This week's strip is also the first strip of Goth Camp I ever drew! The idea for Goth Camp was based on a random quote I came up with for my signature at the MegaTokyo forums. The quote was, "Hey! I didn't sign up for Goth Camp!" It's a quote you can find in the final panel of this strip, originally the inaugural strip. Only the first two panels are from the original strip, which I drew without any pencil work (only ink!) to see if I could do it (kind of), and the third panel was changed dramatically and redrawn so that it would look more like the page of a comic book, also so Pinki, our main character, would look less sarcastic and angry, as she did in the original drawing. I've had to add a lot of strips to the beginning and also inbetween my few original strips, so especially for the first ten to twelve weeks, you'll see my art style change a lot. I think I've finally become settled in how I want the comic to look, though, and it's become much more uniform. Goth Camp is brought to you by the letter "B", the number "42", and too much time on one person's hands. -MelMel
Anyway, as you can see the whole Disneyland thing MelMel and I had planned was cancelled. My bad. Lately I have been having some bad stomach trouble. I don't know what it is, and it could very well prove fatal. Though technically the Dr. Pepper (it makes the world taste better) I'm drinking could also prove fatal, but don't worry about me. I am sure it is nothing serious. Anyways, this is also what has caused the lateness in my news post. I haven't eaten a lot so my energy has been extremely low. On the plus side, I lost 10 pounds and look fab-ulous! (He weighs 121 lbs. instead of his usual 140. -MelMel) Again, this is where I should be talking about my progress on the comic. Currently I'm trying to figure out a way I can help. I know limited HTML, so maybe work on the site in the future could be possible? You never know. But if I were to do that I would be forced to tear myself away from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. It's always a possiblity. ~ George, Lord of the Sith |
